GERRI represented at Mines and Technology 2017 in London

GERRI was present at the international fair and conference "Mines & Technology" taking place from 27 to 30 November 2017 in London (https://london.minesandmoney.com). More than 2000 companies, investors, research institutions and international organisations were sharing innovation strategies in exploration and mining, and discussing its relevance and potentials for ensuring raw materials supply for a global welfare. BGR joins GERRI as associated partner

The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), a subordinate to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), will be an important partner to the German raw materials research network GERRI. BGR will support GERRI not only with its “hot wire to Berlin”, but also with geoscientific advice and technical infrastructure. The central authority holds expertise complementing the raw materials network’s with competences in the first phases of the value chain: „Exploration & Mining“, „Modelling“ and „Processing“.

The BGR’s Deutsche Rohstoffagentur (DERA, German Mineral Resources Agency) publishes reports and studies on availability and application of resources which are of strategic importance for the economy, politics and research. Within the GERRI network, the partners will work together on a sustainable, “ecological and economic use […] of natural resources” as BGR describes its mission.
