The activity of IME Department of Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany essentially consists of applied research and education/teaching in the fields of general pyro-, vacuum-, electric arc- and hydro-metallurgy, metal refining and electrolysis. We are developing production technologies of complex alloys, scrap recycling, residue minimisation and waste processing. Our newest field of work is the synthesis of nano- and sub-micron powders.
